HanseMerkur has been able to gain so much experience in its almost 150-years history such that it is well able to meet future challenges with confidence.
As a traditional Hanseatic enterprise, we consider this one of our duties. Our roots are anchored in the health insurance. By 1875 one of our predecessor companies had already been founded. This makes us, HanseMerkur, the second-oldest private health insurer in Germany - long before the founding of HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung as an independent company offering travel insurance products in 1977. Our company history fills us with pride and is at the same time a further enticement to do our best.
